Mississippi Choctaws reach out to high-tech industry

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians started to pursue the high-tech industry six years ago and tribal officials say the results are paying off.

The tribe just signed a deal to bring another company to the reservation. Giliberti Inc. will manufacture electric vehicles and distribute them worldwide from its new home at Choctaw TechParc.

Also, the tribe launched a partnership with East Central Community College to provide customized workforce training for the new company and other technology industry jobs.
