Ed. Note: Rochelle Ducheneaux is the tribal court judge, not the tribal member who brought the complaint. Ricky Parisien filed the lawsuit.
A lawsuit seeking to remove Ken W. Davis as chairman of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa
Indians was dismissed by a tribal court judge.
A tribal member filed suit against Davis and the tribe's election board. Ricky Parisien said David was illegally seated because he has been convicted of a felony.
Judge Rochelle Ducheneaux dismissed the case for lack of jurisdiction. Davis said his burglary charge in 1968 was expunged from the record.
