The NCAA's Executive Committee is meeting on Thursday to discuss the use of Indian mascots at its member schools.
The executive committee will draft a policy on mascots but will not call for an outright ban. That suggestion has already been rejected by the NCAA's Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee.
The minority committee asked more than 30 schools to justify their use of Indian imagery, symbols and themes. Some schools, like Florida State University, said tribes supported their mascots.
The Seminole Tribe of Florida backs the "Seminoles" but the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma opposes it.
