The Oneida Nation has agreed to detail how much it has spent on improvements to its properties in the town of Verona, New York, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.
The tribe agreed to list its spending as part of a taxation dispute with the town. The tribe has been hit with a $399 million assessment on 8,200 acres in Verona as a result of the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that said the tribe cannot "unilaterally" asset sovereignty over its land claim area.
The town says the ruling allows the tribe's properties to be taxed but the tribe disagrees.
