Office would help Navajos find work in film industry

Navajo Nation Vice President Frank Dayish Jr. is leading talks to create an office to help tribal members obtain work in the film industry.

Dayish talked with Navajo producer Elsa Johnson, Navajo actor Dyron C. Thompson and actor-director Rick Schroeder about the idea. He said he wants to welcome the film industry to the reservation and provide them with talented Navajo actors and workers.

Schroeder of "NYPD Blue" and "Silver Spoons" fame recently filmed parts of his independent "Black Cloud" on the reservation. He said it was a great place to make a movie.
