The Bureau of Indian Affairs is being asked to reconsider its approval of a deal for a liquefied natural gas terminal.
The BIA approved a lease between the Passamaquoddy Tribe and Quoddy Bay LLC of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The tribe will host an LNG terminal on its Pleasant Point Reservation. The deal is expected to generate jobs and millions in revenue.
Some tribal members, local residents and environmental groups oppose the terminal. Opponents plan to appeal the BIA's decision.
