For the second time in the past two years, William "Allen" Talks About has been removed as chairman of the Blackfeet Nation council.
Talks About was accused of mismanaging tribal funds, interfering with tribal court proceedings, ignoring tribal council directives, failing to run orderly meetings and failing to represent the tribe adequately. He denied the charges and said he was the victim of politics.
Vice Chairman Pat Thomas is serving as interim chairman until a permanent replacement is named by the council. Talks About will remain on the council. His term ends in July 2006.
