United Native America wants Devils Tower renamed

A national Indian advocacy group is launching a campaign to change the name of Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming.

United Native America founder Mike Graham, a Cherokee, says the current name is unsuitable. He wants it changed to Bear Lodge National Monument to recognize the monument's importance as a sacred site.

The National Park Service was considering designating the monument as the Bear Lodge Historic Landmark but dropped plans after running into opposition.
