Public meeting set on changes at Devils Tower

A public meeting will be held tomorrow on proposed changes at Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming.

The National Park Service wants designate the monument as " Bear Lodge Historic Landmark" out of respect for tribes and tribal members who conduct ceremonies there. The monument will still be known as "Devils Tower."

Also, NPS is reviewing its voluntary no-climb policy. Climbers are encouraged not to scale the tower during the month of June, when ceremonies are held. The policy has been upheld by the courts.
