The Mtis Nation of Saskatchewan has canceled a legislative assembly due to lack of funds, delaying a new election that could resolve financial woes.
The Mtis Nation has lost more than $2 million in federal and provincial funding as a result of a disputed election. The government won't recognize Dwayne Roth as Mtis president.
The legislative assembly was originally called to schedule a new election that could clear the way for restoration of funds.
