Jonathan Windy Boy, a member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe, is seeking re-election to the Montana Legislature.
Democrat Windy Boy faces Republican Jeffrey Pattison. The race is unusual because both candidates represent districts that are being combined into one.
Windy Boy, one of seven Indian lawmakers, says his experience in tribal affairs makes him a good choice. His priority is clean water and education. He sponsored bills to clean up abandoned mines near the reservation.
The district has two reservations.
