Carole Ann Newcomer is an Alaska Native single mother who is running for state office because she says politicians forget the little people.
Newcomer is an Athabascan who works for Doyon Ltd. as a property manager. She is trying to unseat Republican Jay Ramras for state House of Representatives District 10.
Newcomer says her experiences with an Alaska Native corporation will keep her grounded. She intends to focus on elders and children if elected.
