A federal judge sentenced yet another person for taking part in a kickback scheme that defrauded the Crow Tribe of Montana.

Harvest Dawn White, 30, was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $8,200 in restitution to the tribe. He faced jail time but the judge said he deserved a second chance.

White admitted stealing money from the tribe as part of a scheme to pay the legal fees of former Crow Chairman Clifford Bird in Ground. The incident stemmed from Bird in Ground's indictment on bribery charges. Bird in Ground pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 37 months in prison.
