Northern Cheyenne Tribe plans work near Bear Butte


The Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana plans to build a road on property it owns near sacred Bear Butte in South Dakota.

The tribe owns 160 acres near the site. The road will be used to improve access to Bear Butte, where Plains tribes go to pray, make offerings and hold ceremonies.
