The Cowlitz Tribe continues to make significant progress on its $500 million casino in Washington. The tribe broke ground on the Cowlitz Casino Project at the beginning of the year. It's now expected to open in about 10 months -- April 17, 2017, to be exact -- The Columbian reported. “Fifteen years have passed, and here we are,” tribal member Dave Barnett told the paper's editorial board, referring to the legal and regulatory hurdles the project has overcome. Longtime critics have agreed to open discussions with the tribe although a lawsuit remains pending in federal court. Get the Story:
