Connecticut's two federally-recognized tribes saw mixed results from their slot machines for the month of June. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation reported a win of $44.5 million at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. That's up slight increase from the $44.3 million seen in June 2014. The returns marked the second straight month of increases at Foxwoods. The June 2015 win was 2.4 percent higher than the year prior.

The Mohegan Tribe saw $51.6 million at the Mohegan Sun. That was 1.9 percent lower than the $52.6 million from June 2014. The drop broke a three-month streak of increases at Mohegan Sun. But the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority reported strong profits for the third quarter of 2015. Both tribes are hoping to open a jointly-operated casino somewhere near the Massachusetts border in order to address growing competition for gaming dollars in the Northeast. Get the Story:
