Disputed leader of Apache Tribe to talk to FBI about casinos

Donnie Cabaniss, the disputed leader of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, plans to talk to the FBI about casino corruption.

Cabaniss said rival leaders stole from the tribe's gaming operation. The Silver Buffalo Casino and the Golden Eagle Casino have been shut down.

“They pretty much just went in there and took whatever they wanted,” Cabaniss told The Oklahoman of the alleged theft.

Cabaniss was elected chairman but Phillip Wetselline claims to be in charge. He said the tribe plans to reopen both of the casinos.

The Ft. Sill Apache Tribe, meanwhile, wants customers to know that its gaming operation is doing fine. "There always can be confusion with Apache tribes, because there are nine Apache tribes," Chairman Jeff Haozous told KSWO-TV.
