Judge removes attorneys in unauthorized Mohawk casino case

A federal judge said two attorneys cannot represent three men who are accused of operating a casino that was not authorized by the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York

The Kanienkehaka Longhouse’s Men’s Council hired Scott Moore and Brian Barrett to represent three men who are charged with operating the Three Feathers Casino, a Class II facility that was shut down late last year. But one defendant has decided to represent himself and has refused to waive attorney-client privileges for the other defendants, Aboriginal People's Television Network reported.

In total, five Mohawk men have been charged in connection with running an illegal gaming facility.
