A leader of the
Shinnecock Nation said there's been no "recent activity" on plans for a casino in Nassau County, New York.
The tribe gained federal recognition in October 2010 and announced plans to open up to three casinos on Long Island. But a leadership struggle and an apparent disagreement with a gaming partner seems to have stalled progress.
“There has not been any recent activity regarding Shinnecock gaming in Nassau County,” Shinnecock Trustee Chairman Randy King told The Long Island Press in a statement.
