The Eastern Band of Cherokee
Indians in North Carolina won Bureau of Indian Affairs approval for its Class III gaming compact.
The compact allows the tribe to add live dealers to the
Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Resort.
The state will get a cut of the revenues in exchange.
"This compact is the result of hard work by tribal leaders, the support and partnership of the leadership of the state of North Carolina and the work of our employees that make our gaming enterprise a success," Chief Michell Hicks said in a press release.
