The Kialegee
Tribal Town of Oklahoma wants to use its disputed gaming site for a new business.
The tribe was building the Red Clay Casino on an Indian allotment. A federal judge blocked further construction in response to a lawsuit from the state.
The tribe is now asking Judge Gregory Frizzell for permission to resume construction in order to use the site for a sports bar and restaurant. The tribe also notified the court that the owners of the allotment are now members of the Kialegee Tribal Town.
Marcella Giles and her sister, Wynema Capps, have previously been identified as members of the Muscogee Nation.
