The Massachusetts Gaming
Commission hired a temporary executive director who helped draft H.3702,
the state's gaming law.
C. Stanley McGee has worked for Gov. Deval Patrick (D) since 2007. He helped write H.3702, as well as a prior version of the bill, both of which included tribal gaming provisions.
The commission will continue to look for a permanent executive director as it faces a deadlines to approve three casinos in the state. One casino is reserved for "a federally recognized tribe" under H.3702.
Both the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe want to open a casino.
