The Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin will submit its off-reservation gaming application to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in a matter of days, President Jon Greender said.
“It’s a historic moment,” Greendeer told The Beloit Daily News.
The tribe plans to build a casino in Beloit, a process that Greendeer has previously said could take years. The application will first be reviewed by the BIA's regional office before going to the central office in Washington, D.C.
The tribe negotiated an agreement with the city of Beloit and Rock County.
