The Forest County Potawatomi
Tribe of Wisconsin plans to set aside 20 percent of the work at its new casino hotel for minority-owned businesses.
The tribe plans to spent $150 million on a hotel for the Potawatomi Bingo Casino in
Milwaukee. About $30 million would go to minority firms for demolition, construction and interior work.
"It’s tough for contractors to get ahead in this economy that we live in, especially minority contractors. We want to give them this opportunity,” Ryan Amundson, the communications manager at the casino, told WITI-TV.
The tribe plans to start construction on the hotel later this spring, once local approval is secured.
