The Bureau of Indian Affairs approved a Class III gaming compact for the
Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake in California.
The tribe plans to open the Running Creek Casino on an 11-acre site.
The facility will feature 349 slot machines and six table games.
"This is truly a significant achievement and a major victory for the people of Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake," Chair Sherry Treppa told The Lake County News.
The revenue sharing provisions of the compact take effect only when the tribe operates more than 600 slot machines.
