The Navajo Nation expects to break ground on a $100 million casino in Arizona as soon as March 15, The Arizona Journal reports.
The Twin Arrows Casino and Resort will be located off a major interstate near Flagstaff. The facility is expected to open by mid-June 2012.
Former president Joe Shirley Jr. signed the loan papers for the casino in one of his last official actions.
"Certainly in due time we’re going to pay that back, and then to multiply that, and somewhere down the road if we can multiply that 10 times, it’s a billion dollars. That’s the prayer behind it," he said, the Journal reported.
