The Navajo Nation has opened two casinos but a new one in Arizona is expected to be the biggest so far.
The tribe plans to spend $100 million on the casino near Twin Arrows. The facility will include a hotel and will be marketed as a destination resort.
“By 2012, we can expect to see another 768 new jobs created, 549 in the casino and 219 in the hotel,” President Joe Shirley said in his recent State of the Nation address, The Arizona Journal reported.
The casino will be located off a major interstate.
