The Arizona Indian Gaming Association is staying out of the debate over the Tohono O'odham Nation
off-reservation casino.
AIGA's membership includes the Tohono O'odham Nation but also the Gila River Indian Community. The tribes are in court over the off-reservation casino.
The organization isn't "lobbying for either side," executive director Sheila Morago said at panel arranged by the Arizona Capitol Times.
Morago said the final decision on the casino will be made by the courts.
At issue is whether the Bureau of Indian Affairs can place land in trust for the Tohono O'odham Nation.
