The Bay Mills Indian
Community of Michigan says its new gaming facility is operating within the law.
According to the tribe, the site in Vanderbilt sits on "qualified Indian lands."
But other tribes say the facility is illegal because the land doesn't appear to have been taken into trust.
"We look forward to sitting down and clearing the air on this matter," Chairman Jeff Parker said in response.
The tribe will meet with state officials today to discuss the casino.
