"Wouldn't you know it? Call it coincidence, but after being out of the public's eye for a couple of years, the Bay Mills Indian Community and its nemesis, would-be casino developer Tony DeFeo, are back on our radar. The circumstances, though, are quite different.
This time, Bay Mills is rolling the dice with its slot-machine hall in Vanderbilt, about 50 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge just off Interstate 75.
The word is if state or federal officials don't challenge the Vanderbilt operation, Bay Mills' next stop will be a similar operation at the former post office in downtown Port Huron in April. Eventually, it will lead to a full-blown casino-hotel entertainment complex at Vantage Point."
