Pokagon Band wins local support for its second casino in Michigan

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians gained local approval for its second casino in Michigan. The tribe's compact requires approval from a local government, the voters or another method "suitable" to the governor. The board of trustees in Hartford Township voted unanimously to support the project. "This was a major step," Chairman Matt Wesaw told The Kalamazoo Gazette. The tribe is using a 297-acre parcel in the town for the casino. Get the Story:
