The Shinnecock Nation toured another potential casino site, this one at the airport in the town of Brookhaven.
The tribe is expected to gain federal recognition this summer. A casino is far down the line, trustee Randy King said, but the tribe is open to discussions.
"We have multiple consultants and representatives talking to people and having a variety of conversations with a lot of people that want to talk about different possibilities," King told The Southampton Press.
The tribe has a reservation on the eastern end of Long Island.
