BAY MILLS ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO ENTERPRISE OPERATIONS

BAY MILLS — In an effort to preserve public health and protect employees, Bay Mills Indian Community has announced the following changes to enterprise operations:

—       All restaurant dine-in services will cease operation today, aligning with the Governor’s action. Hotel guests can utilize room service and curbside pick-up will be available to residents from the Back Bay Grill & Games.
—       Bay Mills Resort & Casino will close on Friday, March 20. Operations will remain closed until Friday, April 10 (tentatively). Table games will close at 6 p.m. this evening. Slot machines will remain open from 8 a.m. to midnight. (Note: All hotel guests will check out on Friday morning. Any scheduled guests until that time are welcome to keep their reservation. No new reservations are being accepted.)
—       Kings Club Casino is closed indefinitely.
—       Hours at Bay Mart gas station will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pumps will be full service.
—       Four Seasons Grocery Store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. During the hours of 10 a.m. and noon, the store will be open to elders age 55 and up only.

Bay Mills Resort & Casino employees will utilize accrued leave during the first pay period of the closure, which began on March 15. Some staff will continue to work in other areas of the resort (cleaning, security, etc.). During the second pay period of the closure, employees will be paid their regularly scheduled hours by the tribe.

“We recognize this will have an impact on our workers and this was a difficult decision,” said Bryan Newland, Bay Mills tribal chairman. “Despite the economic impact, we must consider the health of our employees and the public’s health during this time.”

Bay Mills tribal government will continue to operate, although many employees are currently working remotely.
