50 new cases and no recent deaths related to COVID-19
WINDOW ROCK, Arizona – On Friday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 50 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no recent deaths. The total number of deaths remains 1,539. A full report is not available due to the Navajo Nation Family Day holiday.
“On Navajo Nation Family Day, we give thanks and show our love for our parents, grandparents, children, and all of our relatives. We can show our love for one another by taking precautions to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe and healthy during this pandemic. Please be safe, pray for our people including our frontline warriors, and all of our communities across the Navajo Nation,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.
Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.

Please be very careful and take safety measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Be safe and continue to pray for good health, strength, and our well-being as Navajo people,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
