77 new cases and three more deaths related to COVID-19
WINDOW ROCK, Arizona – On Thursday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 77 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and three recent deaths. The total number of deaths is now 1,539. A full report is not available due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
On Thursday, the state of Arizona reported 3,349 new cases. The states of Utah and New Mexico will report cases following the holiday.
“Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Navajo people! We pray for continued blessings and good health for our people, frontline warriors, and our communities. Please be safe and take care of your elders and make sure they have fire wood, blankets, and everything they need for the cold weather. Have a safe and enjoyable time with your loved ones,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.
Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.
“We pray for our people as we give thanks on this special day. We also remember those who have lost loved ones and those who are fighting COVID-19. Please be safe, keep praying, and take precautions especially in public areas. We are in this together,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
