“The Navajo Department of Health, Navajo Area IHS, and all of the health care workers on the Navajo Nation are working together to help our people and to urge them to get vaccinated. They’ve sacrificed so much for all of us, but they can’t force people to get vaccinated or to wear a mask in public – that’s an individual choice. The Delta variant is leading to an increase in new cases of COVID-19 across the country, in the Four Corners states, and here on the Navajo Nation. We have to hold ourselves and our loved ones accountable for taking precautions, for getting fully vaccinated, and continuing to wear masks in public. Please adhere to the advice of our public health experts and keep your guard up. We don’t want to see another huge surge in COVID-19 cases here on the Navajo Nation,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.
Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines during drive-thru events or by appointment. If you would like to receive the vaccine, please contact your health care provider for more information for your Service Unit.
“If you test positive for COVID-19, please isolate yourself and please provide any and all information to the contact tracers so they can use that information to help prevent further spread of the virus in our communities. Our health care workers are working around the clock, but we all need to do our part to help them as well. Please take precautions and please continue to pray for our people,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
