FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Covid-19 DARE Response Team receives Walmart mass donation.
Sisseton, South Dakota, June 1, 2021- Today the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Covid-19 DARE Response Team received a mass donation from Walmart. On behalf of the Walmart foundation (www.walmart.org), the SWO DARE Team was contacted by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe where we were offered multiple semi-truck loads of equate brand hand sanitizer from 4Corners Native Energy LLC.
4Corners Native Energy LLC is a renewable energy consultancy concentrating on creating partnership with Native American Tribes, initiating utility scale wind and solar power generation plants. While manufactured in both the United States and Canada, the Equate brand is the official privately owned branding of Walmart and is well known throughout our continent.
Upon request, we were also able to recommend other Tribes and Tribal health programs to this donor in our attempt to pay it forward. This effort could not have happened without the help of our Hunkpapa relatives in Standing Rock and 4Corners, we are very grateful. The DARE Team looks forward to sharing this mass quantity with the people and appreciates these opportunities to further ensure the safety of our community.
This donation will include gel form type hand sanitizer the DARE Team will store with intent to distribute to the community and to positive members throughout our facility. We believe in science, and trust our family and friends to make an informed decision regarding their health.
Please continue to social distance and mask up in public, if needed, and remember to schedule your vaccination appointments.
