“We have more vaccines coming in the next several weeks and months, but we have to remember that we already know how to beat this invisible monster that we call COVID-19. By staying home as much as possible, we greatly reduce the risk of being infected by the coronavirus. When we isolate ourselves, we isolate the virus and prevent it from spreading further. The safest place to be during this pandemic is here at home on the Navajo Nation. Continue to stay home, wear a mask, practice social distancing, avoid crowds and in-person gatherings, and wash your hands often. We know how to beat COVID-19, but we have to do it together,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.
The Navajo Nation’s 57-hour weekend lockdown remains in effect until Monday, Jan. 4 at 5:00 a.m. (MST). COVID-19 testing schedules are available online at the Navajo Health Command Operations Center website: https://www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov/COVID-19/COVID-19-Testing.
“The New Year is filled with renewed hope and more blessings for all of our Navajo people. Please continue to remain strong and to fight hard against COVID-19. We see the light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccines, but it will take time for the production, transportation, and distribution of more vaccines. Please continue to pray for our health care workers, first responders, and all of our people throughout the Navajo Nation and around the world,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
