lagunacovid19

UPDATE: Twenty-eight (28) active COVID-19 positive cases within the Pueblo of Laguna. The POL EOC continues to track and monitor the COVID-19 virus in our community and schools.

DON’T LET YOUR GUARD DOWN! POL EOC data shows the leading cause of recent COVID-19 exposures is due to “indoor” family gatherings with food. In this setting, many factors contribute to higher viral exposure such as poor ventilation, congregation of different households, self-serve food eaten indoors, no face masks being worn, and unknown vaccination status of people in attendance.

CAUTION FOR PARENTS WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE THE COVID-19 VACCINE…we understand the health benefits for younger children to play outdoors at parks and playgrounds. Please be cautious of who your children are with and teach them to wear a face mask and give space whenever they’re around people outside of their household. Children can become infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, get sick from COVID-19, and easily spread the virus to others.

Remember, face masks and social distancing continue to be VERY IMPORTANT when you venture outside your home and the Pueblo. Stay aware of your surroundings and choose outdoor activities with your own household. Protect those who are not vaccinated, especially our children by practicing your COVID-19 Safe Practices.

Stay Safe Kawaikameh!
