The Indian Health Service has updated its coronavirus testing data, showing results as of 11:59 pm Eastern on May 12, 2020.

According to the data, 62,518 tests have been administered within the IHS system. Of those 5,999 returned positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That represents a 3.9 percent increase from the 5,773 cases previously reported.

Some regions of Indian Country are still lagging when it comes to testing. The Tucson Area, which serves nearly 27,000 Native Americans in southern Arizona, has barely registered significant growth in recent days.

The Tucson Area also has yet to see more than 1,000 tests. Every other region passed the milestone weeks ago.

The Navajo Area (15,875 tests) and the Alaska Area (11,909 tests) continue to dominate in terms of overall testing. The Oklahoma City (7,860 tests) comes in a distant third.
