The Indian Health Service has updated its coronavirus testing data, showing results as of 11:59 pm Eastern on May 7, 2020.

According to the data, 51,955 tests have been administered within the IHS system. Of those, 4,984 have returned positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That represents a  3.7 percent increase from the 4,806 cases previously reported.

Overall, testing increased by nearly 6.5 percent between May 6 and May 7. That is the same day-to-day growth seen over the past several days.

Every region of the IHS surpassed the 1,000-test milestone weeks ago except for the Tucson Area in southern Arizona. Day-to-day testing grew by barely 2 percent in the region, which serves nearly 27,000 Native Americans.
