Victoria Kitcheyan, Chairperson of the National Indian Health Board, appeared on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal program on April 9, 2020.
Kitcheyan, who also serves on the council of the Winnebago Tribe, discussed the impact of the coronavirus in Indian Country. She pointed out that testing lags among American Indians and Alaska Natives, whose health care is promised by treaties and the trust responsibility.
“We have not been on a priority to receive some of these things,” Kitcheyan said on the program.
