Ousted Seminole chief Billie won't give up fight

TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2003 Jim Billie, ousted as chairman of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, is considering asking the Bureau of Indian Affairs to intervene in his bid to regain control. Billie was suspended by the tribal council and finally removed in March. He claims the council did not follow proper procedure. A lawsuit he filed in federal court against the tribe was rejected for lack of jurisdiction. Get the Story:
