New Blackfeet chairman appointed amid turmoil

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2003 The Blackfeet Nation council appointed a new chairman on Thursday. There were scuffles reported and elders were allegedly kicked out of a council meeting as Jay St. Goddard was voted chairman 6 to 3. St. Goddard led the campaign to remove former chairman William "Allen" Talks About, who said he was targeted because he launched an investigation into alleged financial improprieties. Get the Story:
