Residents of a 90 percent Indian county in Montana will be able to participate in a special election.

The county was drawn up in response to a lawsuit which found that residents of the Fort Belknap Reservation were unfairly denied voting rights. A federal judge last Thursday refused a request to halt a September 19 primary while an appeal of the ruling is heard.
