Tribe won't operate business in town's waters

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut has dropped plans to locate part of its aquaculture business in the town of Stonington.

The tribe decided against raising shellfish in the town but not before locals raised objections. Leaders of the town were urged to reject a permit the tribe requested.

The tribe has seen opposition to its aquaculture business.
