Accounting firm blames money losses on tribe

A trial into an accounting firm accused of malpractice continued on Monday with testimony blaming the Sokaogan Ojibwe Tribe for an embezzlement scheme. The tribe claims the firm Shinners, Hucovski and Co. failed to uncover the fraud. The tribe is suing for $1.8 million in damages. A lead accountant for the firm testified that the tribe was told of suspicious activity but that corruption within the tribe caused the losses to be overlooked. Get the Story:
