Wis. tribe sues accounting firm for malpractice
Tuesday, August 12, 2003

The Sokaogon Ojibwe Tribe of Wisconsin has sued an accounting firm for malpractice, claming a loss of $1.8 million.

The tribe claims Shinners, Hucovski and Co. failed to uncover an embezzlement scheme that involved a former casino partner. But the firm says the money was lost due to tribal corruption and mismanagement.

The firm says it informed the casino manager about suspicious activities, but it turns out the manager was being bribed.
