The U.S. House of Representatives considers H.R.741, the Stronger Engagement for Indian Health Needs Act of 2025, on September 14, 2026.
The bill designates the Director of the Indian Health Service as the Assistant Secretary for Indian Health. The position will remain within the Department of Health and Human Services.
Following consideration, the House approved H.R.741 under a suspension of the rules.
