Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren addresses a tribal gathering in Washington, D.C., on January 19, 2025.
Nygren is the youngest person to lead the Navajo Nation, the tribe with the largest reservation in the United States. He said he is looking forward to working with the new administration of Donald Trump, who is being sworn it as America’s 47th president at mid-day on January 20, 2025.
“We’re all here tonight to really figure out how do we come together to make sure that we bring opportunities like economic development, jobs and revenues for the nations that we represent — and particularly the Navajo Nation,” Nygren said.
The Navajo Nation hosted the reception at the Navajo Nation Washington Office near the U.S. Capitol.
